I’m incredibly surprised by the group on Tumblr who finds this as racist. Before I become infuriated I might explain something to these people looking to crucify my work. I have the utmost respect for Japanese culture, the piece is meant as a artistic take on fashion and time. The sticks were used to create decoration and as much as you argue eating or “chopsticks” are regularly used as decoration. Moving on to the make -up, again this is an artistic view of the make-up artist and not a traditional “feel”. Critique. I’ll gladly honor and accept any constructive criticism from those who can provide it…my recent photos from this session and others has been reviewed and critiqued by one of the biggest Japanese fashion photographers Maki Kawakita.
